Hello everbody,

I´m working on a 3D airfoil. I`ve generated the mesh with ICEM then exported it to StarCD using CGNS format. During the crack check I´ m getting nearly 2500 cells with cracks within 48000 cells. I´ m using a crack limit smaller than my thinest cell edge. On the other hand when I observed these 2500 cells with eye, I couldn` t see any visual defects. What could be the reason for this problem?

Why didn`t you use the direct export form ICEM to STAR-CD?

Actually, I´ ve done it also. But the number of the cells with cracks was the same.

I can suppose, that these "crack" cells are the most thin in your model. If it is actually so, than the reason of your problem is too small relation of length cells to its height . But in practice, for my experience, it doesn't influence on solution field. You can save geom file and begin to calculate.

i think , if u have cracks in the model, it will not write the Geom File. check it.

When you go to Check grid, then select check option Cracks, then try reducing delta. I've had this problem too.
