I have heard a rumor that CD-Adapco will release STAR 4 between the end of this year and middle of next year. Do you now if that is true and what can we expect from this new version?

well, i do not have latest information but:

There should be no V4 of star-cd! Next major release will be star-ccm (not ccm+ which is already available) star-ccm will be a merger of star-cd and comet.

but as i said, this is not really up-to-date. maybe adapco decided to star with star-cd Vx.xxxxx to avoid too much confusion

The name StarCD changes to StarCCM. The internal version No. is 4.0, but I don't know if the first StarCCM release has the version No. 4.0, too.

The ProSTAR GUI in StarCCM should be the same as in StarCD.

You can regard it as a kind of new StarCD version.
