Catalytic combustion

Hi, Did anyone work with catalytic combustion in Star CD? I need some help. I want to simulate combustion of methane and air on a platinum or palladium surface. How can I set up the model in Star CD? Thanks.

Re: Catalytic combustion

you can refer to "kinetics_starcd.pdf" in the STAR manuals

One Tip is that you have to set up background scalar(N2) at the Chemkin options except for "background material" manu.

Thank you Kris. I have to have license for Star/Kinetics to simulate the catalytic combustion right? I was wondering wheteher I could use the heterogeneous reaction model without the Star/Kinetics. Thanks.

Re: Catalytic combustion

you can need source term modeling in governing equ.

but I think you can simulate catalytic combustion if you have make subroutine

catalytic combustion of methane on Pt

hello guys ,
i am currently trying to simulate a catalytic combustion of methane on Pt without importing files from chemkin surface reactions rates. can you please help me? it is a 2-D model with 2 different diameters
