stopping particle tracks

In my modelling I use langrangian particle tracking. For some reason some particles like to have a preference of moving over the edge of cell. When enlarging the track and the cell, it looks like the parcel jumps from one cell to the next one and back. After a number of these jupms some of the track just stop. Has anyone else had this problem ? Did you solve it?
