Does anyone know how to repair negative volume cells in CCM+? The manual says it needs to be done in the mesh generator software, but in this case the mesh is generated in CCM+! The CAD data was imported from solid edge as an STL then remeshed in CCM+. Thanks

Did you use the surface remesher on your stl data before volume meshing it? Most (not all) volume errors are actually traceable back to a poor surface.

Yes, I used the surface remesher. The surface is quite complex, but the mesh does look ok. Is there any way to "flip" these cells in CCM+?

There is no flipper tool in ccm+ but its likely not that simple. The negative cells I've seen are usually extremely twisted and ill-formed. Flipping them probably isn't going to help, but you could try sending them to prostar4, flipping them there and sending them back to ccm+. I would tell you to get in touch with user support and get them to send your model to the developers who are very interested in seeing these things.

Hi,

If you have very small curves in your model try to generate subsurfaces on variable thickness bases and afterwards genrate volume mesh on local surface properties base. This will make your mesh dense around curves. You can reffer pro-am tut2.

Hope it works.
