calculating eccentricity of flow

hello all

i want to get the eccentricity of flow..i mean if a flow happens in a circular pipe,i want to calulate the distance from the centre at which the maximum flow rate happens. How can i calulate this distance in STar.

thanx in advance,

Rajesh

Re: calculating eccentricity of flow

Define a cylindrical coordinate system for your pipe and load the velocity magnitude. Put all cells with the highest velocity magnitude in a set. Load the x-coordinate for your new coordinate system and plot the cells. They should be coloured according to their distance from the pipes centre.

Dear Ralphie

thanks a lot,it worked.but i have a doubt whether the radius of the maximum velocity will give the eccentricity of mass flow.

how can i calculate centre of mass flow?

Regards Rajesh
