Is there any way to force ProAM to preserve original cell types I have in the custom mesh? It would be nice to have such a feature...

There is a button somewhere I think, can't remember exactly where though (sorry that probably wasn't much help!)

Hmmm... The only thing I can find is "Output unique cell types" in the advanced options for trimmed cell generation, but that's not what I'm looking for

you can assign surface cell types to the extrusion layer cells.... in the advanced options for extrusion layer generation select "surface cell types" option....

No, that's also not what I want. What I want is to assign different cell types to different parts of the model at the stage of custom mesh preparation. But by default ProAM will change everything to one type in the trimmed mesh

You could try it by merging the custom mesh with the trimmed mesh, put one custom mesh cell type in a cset, get all cells from the trimmed mesh with the same vertices as the cset, define a different cell type for the trimmed mesh cell set and delete the custom mesh cells in the cset.

This is probably not particularly elegant, but it might work (at least for the hex cells).

Well, it sounds like a solution. But I want to be sure that there is no such option in ProAM If not, may be it would be nice to include it
