Create a launcher on your desktop, and link it to the executable file of starlaunch onto your installation directory.

I did several ways for launching star-cd, as you said i created a launcher on desktop, but not working, maybe problem is this: "in order to start Star-Cd i am using remote server license(parallel license)" is there any configuring for parallel license too? also i tried to create by using terminal, it says "Home directory unknown, could not install icons"^^ elyor@linux-cfd:~> . /home/elyor/S

Re: How to make icon for starlaunch in SuSeLinux

I don't know how you start your starlaunch. two cases may be there first you may be having an executable that pre-sets the variables like STARDIR,CDLMD_LICENSE_FILE etc. and then calls the starlaunch from the star-cd installation directory. Or if not so, second may be that you have these pre-settings in your default shell or in your .profile.

If yours is the second case, you can make a seperate executable, with all these pre-settings, and at last call for star-launch. You can link this executable to the launcher in your desktop.

Hope it works.
