monitor residues.

Hi I am a new user of star cd. I have used fluent and cfx. In that It shows residue fall during solver running. I would like to know that whether this type of facility is availabe in star cd or not? I have searched it but only found that It only shows residue fall of previous file after solution has done . I want during solve, so that I can judge whether my solver is converging or diverging. Thanks

Re: monitor residues.

You have two ways of plotting residuals during the solution:

In real time - enable STARWATCH - see manuals.

On the click of a button (in the STAR-GUIde menu called Anal. Prep & Runnin, Run History) - this can be displayed any time during and after a solution.

It is also shown as values in the "STAR Launch" windows when runing.

Re: monitor residues.

The way I prefer is to use pro-STAR

During the STAR run have pro-STAR open for the case and go to the Run History of Previous Analysis Panel.

If you hit the Plot Residual History button and the residual should display on the screen.

Re: monitor residues.

First you should run "starwatch daemon" and make the starwatch ready to receive the data and display.
