Default Weghted averages along lines

Hi,

I would like to compute mass-weighted averages and area-weighted averages along lines (e.g. arcs, or straight lines) laying on a section which is not oriented as the grid, so that the section cuts several layers of exahedral cells.

Could you please tell me what's the most efficent way to do that in StarCD, or suggest a postprocessing software that could do that?

Thank you very much indeed.

Regards,

Ale

You can do this in proSTAR:

1. create some shell cells where you want the results - e.g. create a spline where you want the results, loop over its v's to create line cells, then extrude these into a thin line of shells.

2. load your results into the fluid cell post registers and do any calc OPERATIONS to mass average or whatever.

3. map these results onto the shell cells using command PMAP (you could alternatively also put lots of vertices evenly along the spline and map into these - depends what you really want)

4. CSET the shells or v's and plot or SUMM or whatever
