Sector model mesh problems!!

Hello, everybody, who has experience work with sector mesh? Who can tell me what is going on? When I check for illegal and bad cells, there will appears "error #74: There are cracks (unconnected regions) in the model" But if I merge the vertices, the message will disappear, the error messages "Error*** side 1 of cell 330 connects to 334 whitch is a boundary/cut Error ***side 2 of cell 56464 connects to 876464 which connects back to 455646" will appear when move events after execute STAR.

It's hard to say without seeing your grid.

How are your creating your mesh? Are you using es-ice, Prostar, or some other code? Is this a trim mesh?

Are you starting with a shell mesh & extruding it into a sector? If so, you should not have cracks.

Do you have embedded refinement (couples)?

Dear Pauli: I used es-ice when I created mesh. And I used trim method. The mesh is created in es-ice automatically. As you say, if I created mesh starting with a shell mesh & extruding it into a sector, Must needs write events manually?

Yes you would have to manually build the events & cgrid files.

For a sector mesh (no moving valves) it is not that bad. I started with the tutorial & made it work. It took a few days to get it working and another couple to fine tune matters.

Back to your problem, I have no experience with es-ice & trimmed mesh. The error messages hint at a trim cell issue. If I were in your position, I'd forward the problem to support.
