ProEngineer Wildfire to Star-CCM+

I am having a heck of a time exporting geometry from ProE to Star-CCM+ without encountering non-manifold surfaces. The only formats I can get to work are IGES and STEP. I've tried setting the accuracy in ProE to 1.e-06 but I still get surface problems. Do any ProE users have any advice to give?

Have you tried Parasolid format (file.x_t)?!

Re: ProEngineer Wildfire to Star-CCM+

It won't even import the parasolid. It just throws up an error almost immediately. Any more suggestions? ~Thanks

Is import to ccm+ essential? It does not really have a geometry core so far. SO it has to facet gerometry.

Re: ProEngineer Wildfire to Star-CCM+

How can I use Star-CCM+ if I can not import geometry?

Re: ProEngineer Wildfire to Star-CCM+

I would recommend update your ccm+ version to 3.02.006 if you haven't done it yet!

I've imported parasolid files many times and it works perfectly fine.

This is what I do in Pro/E:

File > Save a Copy > then filename.x_t > ok

select "Solids" & "Shells" > ok

i recommend you not to use Pro-E for transformation. Pro-E exports geometries very badly.
