Perhaps you could provide a detailled definition of what you wish to calculate for the ignorant amongst us.

In order to know uniformity of ammonia distribution I need to calculate a mixing index. In calculating a mixing index at a section area, I need to account one of surface area of each cell which has same ammonia concentration. I already calculated it by using "Utility" in STAR CD. However I account one by one cell area to obtain the total areas with the same ammonia concentration and this need much more time. I read a paper which has calculated the mixing index by using FLuent but they did not inform how they got it.

thansk a lot

Dear All,

i am new member, i need your help to get the method of calculating the mixing index, in other words, i have two reactors, different sizes, different
agitator shape/ type, my question is how to assure their euivalency from mixing point of view.

Many thanks all for your prompt answer.

I think that you can try uniformity index in Report→Surface intergral.
The formula is in the manual.
Just type and search it.
