Post-process for mass flow rate

I run an engine simulation and am able to present velocity and static pressure at desire crank angle using contour plot or vector plot.
For mass flow rate, how can I extract the information and post-process it? p/s some more information added Later, I try getc flux However, the output printed "*Error - all 6 fluxes are not on file". What is that means? Last edited by wei; May 13, 2009 at 10:29. |

Take a look at INTEGRATE command - may be that's what you need?

INTEGRATE is a good option as Anton mentions. I;m not sure of what you are looking for in particular, but also check SUMMARY command.

I try to check the mass flow rate of a surface. I goto Plot > Flux Sum > Pick Cells to select four cells. The output prints: For 4 faces: area = 0.40E-01 flux= -0.821894E-04 total cumulative area (absolute) = 0.7E-01 total cumulative area (scaled) = 0.7E-07 total cumulative fllux = -0.143841E-03 If the unit of dimension in my case is milimeter, 1) What units are above numbers? 2) What is the differences of 'area', 'total cumulative area (absolute) ' and 'total cumulative area (scaled)' ? 3) What is the differences of 'flux', 'total cumulative flux' ? |

The total area (Scaled) is in mm^2. You must have scaled (STAR CD does this when you choose the mm option) before writing out the geometry file. This is the scaled area.
