Help on 2D interpolation in StarCCM+

Hi there,

Iam trying to perform interpolation on 2D data in StarCCM+.

I have used with great success the "InterpolateTable" routine supplied with the software. Essentially it does 1D interpolation of a variable in column2 with respect to variable in column1 of a table.

Iam interested in 2D interpolation where a variable is a function of say Temperature and Pressure. In this case, we would have a 2D table for each variable (say Density). A sample table at few temperatures and pressures is shown below with the real table to be a very large 2D matrix.

T1 T2 T3
P1 0.3 0.4 0.48
P2 0.5 0.53 0.57
P3 0.7 0.87 0.9

Eventually, I need to evaluate Density at any given Temperature and Pressure using interpolation. For simplicity, LINEAR interpolation is sufficient.

I need some suggestions on how to handle such a requirement in StarCCM+. I would really appreciate your help in this regard.

If someone has a work around for this problem, please let me know. Iam not sure if we can write a "user code" for this problem. I have no experience with "user code", but if it solves my problem, I can start working.

Any support from the experience guys will be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely
Madhuri
