Importing mesh from Autocad
 
Dear All,


I am new STAR-CCM+ user. i am going to simulate the erosion in pipeline due to sand presence. for the first step i need to have a pipe, i draw that pipe by autcad 2012 and I meshed the pipe from autocad. now the file is in DWG format and I do not know how to import this file to STAR-CCM+.

did i do it in correct way?? How can i import to STAR-CCM+

i would be glad to hear your suggestion

hello...

alan ...
first your dwg file save as autocad 2007,2004 any of it..then open it on rhino..then save as IGES,STEP ,,
you have to first convet it to IGES,STEP format...
for this you can using rhino 4.0...
then you can open it on STAR CD.CCM++

do you mean Rhinoceros or Rhino (JavaScript engine)?? is the one you mentioned free software or not???
