Extracting data from 3D domain

Hi everyone,

I have been doing 3D simulations over a NACA 0012 wing using StarCCM+. I wanted to plot the pressure coefficient over the airfoil at the wing base. I have done that for 2D simulations using the XY plot. However, how could I accomplish that for 3D simulations? What I thought of was to make a derived part plane section at the wing base, but then how do I get the value of pressure coefficients on the airfoil from it?

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Regards,
Rachit

You're doing the right thing. Make a plane section across the station you want, make sure the only "Parts" item that is activated is the wing surface.

You should then be able to put that plane section directly into an XY Plot

Hi Ryne,

Did you mean activating the airfoil part (deactivating other parts) for the plane section? Cause on doing so, it doesn't plot anything. Its just blank. Or did you mean doing so for some other section?

Oh sorry! figured it out. You had given the right solution.

Thanks!
