Dear Jola
My opinion was to make the sub-forums and people here have different views. But I see every person (who is in favor of sub-forums) has different preferences for sub-forums. So my recommendation is to keep the forum " as it is " until we get more suggestions. What do you suggest? |
Might be a good idea to wait a bit. Perhaps we could try to find one or a couple of very specific sub-forums to open to start with, like the UDF forum we have now. The UDF forum seems to work quite well, but that is a very easy topic to separate. I'll think about another good topic to separate, nothing comes to my mind directly.

Personally, I vote for the classification based on applications themes for the reasons I mentioned in earlier post. However I think that any kind of classification into sub-forums that majority of folks agrees upon will be beneficial.
While the list of application themes is pretty exhaustive, we can consider the following list: 1) Aerodynamics/turbomachinary 2) Heat transfer/Combustion 3) Mulitphase 4) UDF 5) Main/Miscellaneous The themes can be added/subtracted/separated as folks deem fit. OJ |
well, "multiphase" would be better choice to segregate first. Audience of this topic is growing at rapid rate.
Another choice can be "convergence, turbulence modeling, transition modeling, solver settings" Third choice is "General/Main/Miscellaneous Fluent forum" |
I agree with you Sijal. Since we can't find a forum subdivision that everyone agrees on lets add only one subforum to start with and see how it works out. Multiphase is a topic that is easy to separate and also has a a growing dedicated audience. I have opened a new Fluent Multiphase subforum now. I will start moving threads from the main forum into the new subforum to give it some content to start with. Feel free to help with this.
