Dedicated thread for short questions and answers in the hardware subforum (sticky?)

I was thinking that it might be a good idea to have a thread where people can ask "short" hardware related questions. For two main reasons:

it stops people from hijacking other (unrelated) threads. Mods could move such postings here if people dit not find it in the first place
It lowers the bar to ask a question that the OP might find too trivial and is hesitant to ask in a new thread

This thread could be made sticky. But if it serves its intended purpose, it should stay afloat on its own.
What do you think?

I'm not sure if a dedicated sticky thread would make users more willing to post. Posting to a long sticky thread would be more noticeable and disturbing for users since it would send notifications to everyone who is subscribed to the thread.

If people are hi-jacking threads please report the message. A moderator will then move the post to its own thread and give the offending user an infraction. Hi-jacking threads is against the forum rules and irritates everyone.
