I am Ali Azzam
I am doing My Ph.D. in South Korea.

My Ph.D. topic is about the design and simulation of low noise 10 kW horizontal axis wind turbine.

I built a Matlab code based on the BEM theory to determine chord length and twist angle distribution along blade span.

the main problem which I faced is efficiency.

I used many different kinds of the airfoil (NACA 6412, NACA 4412, NACA 633-418, FX76-MP160, S809, S823, S823 and DU93-W210) for two values of Re (500,000 and 1,000,000). The efficiency for all these attempts was about (0.37-0.4).


I would like to know how much the normal efficiency of the 10 kW wind turbine? and what do you think about this problem ?.
