Anyone have a good way of creating vector images (not images with velocity vectors, but images that are drawn with vectors, not pixels, to insure better quality when resized during publication)?
While Star-CCM+ has an option to create a scene hardcopy in a .ps format, the result is not a vector image. I'm thinking that Tecplot (or Paraview) is probably my best option?

Techplot and paraview are no image formats, so I'm not fully convinced that it is what you're looking for.
Unfortunately I don't know any generic vector image format. But depending on what you try to achieve, you might try to export a scene in Starview+ format. You can zoom, rotate and pan a scene. You can even right-click and hide displayers and parts. Of course, you need to install Starview+ on the machine you're using while presenting. I'm not fully sure how it works (I've never tried it on my own, just saw it in a presentation), but it is also possible to include Starview+ scenes in PowerPoint. CD-adapco support should be able to give you a guide. This will not help you when you want to include the picture in a report, a pdf or something similar. I'm sorry I can't provide you any solution for that situation.

I took a look, I couldnt figure out any way to get a vector image as well. Maybe try calling your support, and if they cant come up with anything I'd try those other programs. |

There is no vector-graphics-format , which supports all the OpenGL features like opacity , light + contours ... , so it is not possible.
Even paraview doesn't support it. |
