Hi,

I would like to see how change the wetted surface of a ship using 6-DOF and VOF models.

How can I get, using field functions, the wetted surface of the ship??

Thanks a lot.

hi jamie

you need to integrate the area of the vof>1 on the hull

Hi,

How can I do that?

Creating a new Field Function? Using Threshold, cell site?

Thanks!

hello,

answer to old post, but for future reference:

1) make threshold for volume fraction above eg. 0.05, select the hull region
2) make report for sum, select area magnitude. select derived part -> the threshold
3) 'create monitor and plot from report', set manual normalization to 0.5 if symmetry along centerline of the ship is used.

Just a quick note, it's important that in step 1 you select only the boundary of the hull, not the region.
