Hello guys, I am a frequent ANSYS-FLUENT user but I have a project I need to do in Star CCM+

I am doing a flow over a flat plate simulation

as you can see, I need a finer mesh along the bottom side, which will be the flat plate for accuracy and efficiency.

This is really easy in Ansys FLUENT, all I have to do is just enable mesh bias.

but there is no bias option in Star CCM+

Is there a way to create this mesh in Star CCM+?

Thank you.

You can try to use prism layer mesher since it is used for the boundary layer mesh.
You can control the expansion from the wall with this.

In this case i recommend the extruder. available in model selection of mesh continuum.
Extrusion type option is located below the Mesh Conditions node of your Boundaries.
Extrusion Parameters option will appear below Mesh Values node.

Once chosen, your are able to define the extrusion length, the amount of layers and the stretching ratio from one layer to the next layer.

Although I know it must be pretty hard, would you mind to give a little more information?

Hello abdul,
thanks for reply.but, thanks god i solved the error of volume mesh problem.
i have some further problem,
my project is related to exhaust gas.
in my project i have to simulate the to a exhaust gas + soot simulation.
so which cfd model suitable related to my project.

DATA:
pIPE INNER DIA - 54MM
OUTER DIA: - 60MM
TEMPRETURE OF EXHAUST GAS : -250 C
EXHAUST FLOW VWLOCITY IS 20 M\S
SO; shall i use a Eulerian multiphase cfd model?

i need ur suggestion.

thanks and regards,
joseph
