Need some Help and advise

1 Attachment(s)
Hello everyone,
I hope some of you can help me.

Honestly, I am definitely new in Star CCM+, and thats why I really need some advise from all of you.

Maybe some of you already heard about "Fluid Structure Interaction or FSI". it is about how a Structure reacts to its sorunding.
My Project for the next two month (was given from my professor), is about to define the movement of a mixers shaft, when the mixer rotates.

I heard in the tutorial, that the structural response and interface response for FSI simulations can be post-processed in Abaqus/CAE. The fluid behavior and interface solution can be viewed in STAR-CCM+. Combined fluid and structural solution post-processing can be done using third-party software.

what does it really mean, a third party Software?

can anyone gives me some advise how should I begin with, after i design the mixer and import it in Star CCM+?

I attached a Photo just to make sure all of you understand what i mean.
thank you so much!!

thank you for your advise.

My advise is to start with the mixer first with a simple rotation and no other motion. Do it without FSI first and get familiar with STAR-CCM+. You'll run in enough issues and can make it more complicated afterwards.

Usually you first start with importing the geometry and assign it to regions. Maybe you have to repair the surface, depending on the quality of the imported data. Then you choose meshing models and meshing parameters and create a volume mesh. It might be necessary to create several meshes until you have a good one.
Then choose physics models, boundary conditions and run the simulation.
Once you're familiar and you know what you're doing, you can increase the level of complexity by adding additional motions to the mixer. But I'm not sure if it makes sense to go for FSI within only two months. It's a bit more than just putting some values to an input mask and press a run button.

thank you so much for your advise, abduh.
I am know still, as you said, having plenty of problems creating a good meshing..

Otherwise.
I still need some of your advise after I complete the meshing.

thank you so much.
