Hello everyone,

Yesterday when i try to open Star CCM+ there was no problem, but today when i tried it i faced with this issue.

It says:

A java.lang.IllegalArgumentException exception has occurred.
However, the system should continue working without further problems.
Click Show Details for the stack trace.

What should i do?

On the same day, I began to receive the exact same error message. Uninstalling and reinstalling StarCCM did not solve the issue either.

I figured it out.
Because of the Java update, Star ccm+ should be up-to-dated too. I uninstalled all files of Star ccm+ and got a newer version of it(2020.3.1) and it worked.

Could you please show me how did you find the cause?
A same problem occurs. However, my Java version is Java8 and my star ccm+ version is 2020. It seems that update star ccm+ does not work.

I actually asked my supervisor about this problem and he said that same thing happened to him because java version and star ccm are not matcing. Sadly, I don't have any information about which java version is matching with which star ccm version. Currently, I am using Java 8 Update 311 and Star CCM 2020.3.1 and there are no issues.
