Hello everyone,

I would like to simulate evaporation of water inside a pipe - imagine I have a pipe with the length and diameter of 500mm and 20mm, respectively - there is also enough heat source on the outer surface of the pipe to generate steam. Water enters at 25C at a flow rate of 1.5e-7 kg/s - I would expect to have complete steam on the outlet with a higher pressure.

What sort of physics and boundary conditions would you use, VOF or boiling? I am no interested in formation of bubbles as there should be complete phase change - steady of unsteady simulation?

I tried some of the tutorials like VOF boiling, but solution didn't converge!

any help is much appreciated.
