Problems in velocity inlet
1 Attachment(s)
Hello everyone. I am just having some problem with my model. My model is a cylinder (as shown in the figure). It has two different velocity component (one tangential and one radial). Can any one please tell me how can I input them in my model. Thanks in advance for your help.

You need to generate a local coordinates at the middle of your inlet and build a field function for each component (in x, y and z directions) of the velocity.

Thank you very much for your help. I was trying to follow your suggestions, but still having some problem. I wrote my radial and tangential components as follows: 0.508*(position[2]^0.143 and .292*(position[2]^0.143. I got two errors. first it was not taking the power (^0.143) part. Showing some syntax error. Then when I removed this (although not right), it showed me some different errors.
error: unable to compute field function: radial velocity (radial velocity) Cannot resolve function $${position}: "position" not defined. Thanks in advance for your help. |
For position and scalar properties you should put just one dollar sign.
Please search in the help of STAR-CCM : user defined field function or programming reference. Then you will find out how to write power and so on |
Thank you very much for your assistance. I will try to use your idea and will let you know definitely.
