Hi all,

I am a beginner in STAR CCM+. I am wondering what is variable of timestep size in user field function of STAR CCM+?

In conditional expression, is it possible to define as below structures?
if Time > T1 then
if position > p1 then...
else if position < p1 then...
else
else if Time < T2 then...
if position > p1 then...
else if position < p1 then...
else
else...

I really appreciate your help.

Your question is not clear. Do you want to know the meaning of time step?

Hi,

In user field function, how can I define time step size variable as velocity variable ($$Velocity) or Temperature variable ($Temperature)?

Best regards

Hi lava12005,

Thank you for taking your time.
I am wondering that the term of $Timestep is the number of timestep or timestep size?
For user field function, is it possible to define above structure?

Best regards

Hi ThanhToan,

$TimeStep is the timestep size.
Yes, it is possible to define the above structure, if else is normally defined as

(if condition)
?
(if it is true then do this)
:
(if it false then do this)

For more detail I suggest you have a look on the manual.
