star ccm+, FSI, overset grid, flatplate
I have a question about the capability of the overset function of star ccm+.
I want to run a FSI simulation on a oscillating plate. The question is that during the simulation, is it possible to use overset to accommodate the rotational and transnational motion of the plate as well as the deforming motion?. I have successfully run the simulation using the mesh morphing function (and the co-simulation function with abaqus. ), however, it turned out that it is very time consuming because the solver tried to remesh the fluid region at every time step. This is also the main reason I want to switch to the overset approach. Anyone has experiences in this regard, I would really appreciate your reply. Thanks:)
