Convert to interface not active

1 Attachment(s)
Hello everybody,

I have to simulate a small sailboat in Upwind conditions but I am encountering some problems with the baffle interfaces.

As I need to mesh the sails (main and jib) I need to convert them into baffle interfaces (as many others do) to have a zero-thickness boundary to generate the mesh.

I was able to do it one time and started the computation. The problem started when I changed the domain (changed the importing CAD file) to analyze different sails regulations.
When I want to convert the boundaries into interfaces the option is not active anymore (see the image in attach).

I tried to change the CAD file but nothing changed. Any suggestions?

Thank you

You can't convert to an interface because you already have a mesh.

The proper method to do this is to use 'create baffle' on the part surface.

Hi All,

I have two questions.

1. Can we convert the boundary into interface in PBM by using Convert to Interface? - Because that option is not active for me before and after the mesh.

2. How to create internal interface in a single region. (E.g. A Box inside a box.) Inner box boundaries as interface.

Your guidance can be valuable to me.

Regards,
Vinayak

If you are using PBM you need to do this:

The proper method to do this is to use 'create baffle' on the part surface.

And the interface will be taken care of for you when you assign your part to a region.
