In STAR CD, if flow is in one direction of a porous media (say catalyst), for other two directions Alpha & Beta values are given as mush as higher value (say 100000)..
Similarly in case of STAR CCM+ what should be given as input to restrict the flow in "Porous internal resistance" and "Porous viscous resistance" |

It is pretty much the same in CCM+ as well. Use the calculated porous and viscous resistances in the flow direction and use high values (about 1000 times) in the other two directions.
