Im using blade element method for aerodynamics analysis of a wind turbine. Im kind of lost since the user guide does not explain how this model works how the results are different with regular aerodynamic models. Can any one help me if has any experience in it?

Actually, the help docs give a very good explanation of the virtual disk. Read it again.

What do you mean by regular aerodynamic models? The blade element virtual disk is very similar to blade element momentum theory, if that's what you are after.
