Starccm+ yaw test function

Hello
I am trying to perform a yaw test on ship so i created the yaw test function
to use in the Motion 'Rotation and translation'.

But when i create a vector function and put that in rotation rate in 'Rotaion and
translation' i get error

"Function does not evaluate to a scalar: Simulation>MotionManager>RotatingAndTranslatingMot ion("Rotation and Translation")>ScalarPhysicalQuantity>InlineFieldFu nction("InlineFieldFunction")"

it does work wen i define function as scalar.
can any one explain me the reason ? as as angular vel. is vector it should work with vector function.
Thnx

The rotation rate is a scalar value, so a vector function doesnīt make sense. Thatīs the reason why the function, defined as scalar, is working.

The angular velocity (units 1/s) describes the rotation rate around an origin (and the direction of rotation, meaning clockwise or counter clockwise). It is a pseudovector quantity.

So what you are looking for, is maybe a coordinate system that is moving to describe the changing rotation position.

True, the input is a scalar, but velocity is always defined as a vector. There should be an input for a vector that defines a rotational axis and then a scalar to define magnitude. I think you are just over complicating the issue.
