Hello,

I am trying to run an unsteady simulation of a Von Karman street behind a 2D cylinder.

I have performed several runs already with coarser meshes and solver settings, I am now trying to run a more detailed simulation.

However, twice now the simulation has experienced an error at the exact same point when computing the solution (on the 451st time step) and gives the following error message.

"Hdf5Importer: could not open file:<directory to where the simulation is running from on my memory stick\Simulation.simh>"

The output window also displays a load of error messages, most of which say "minor: Write failed" for HD5F.

My memory stick still has plenty of spare space, is there any way around this problem? Has anyone else experienced this issue before?

Many thanks.

To anyone who also encountered this problem, I managed to get around it by running the simulation on a Linux cluster machine.

I think the cause could have been simply the output file exceeding my storage capacity?

Sounds like file size to me. Possibly a data rate issue with the USB. Generally you wouldn't want to work from an external drive connected via USB. A cluster is probably not necessary unless you have a very large file that needs lots of resources. You could probably just copy to a local working directory (something on C:\) and when finished, copy back to your drive.
