Lagrangian Modeling : SS vs Transient vs Quasi-Transient

Hi CFD users,

I want to model spray impingement on a surface. I want to capture the film formation too. With some research, I figured that Lagrangian with Fluid Film in STAR-CCM+ would be a good option.

1. Instead of going for a transient case, I am wondering if we can can do the same in Steady State approach and capture the fluid film? The problem is STAR-CCM+ doesn't activate Fluid Film model in Steady State approach!! Is there any alternative in this tool with Steady State approach.

2. Also, I was wondering, if it is possible to model quasi-transient approach with discrete lagrangian phase modeled in transient and continuous phase in steady state approach.

Any info is truly appreciated.

Thanks,
Sandeep
