Electrons in Plasma Flow

Hello All,

I am using Star-CCM+ to model the gas phase chemistry of a glow discharge based in helium. I have had some trouble with figuring out how I could use the reactions model to incorporate electrons into the gas. I also need to design gases for each of the different ions that are present in the plasma (N2+, H2O+, etc.) Does anyone have suggestions on how to do this? I realize this is primarily an engineering forum rather than a chemistry one, but I thought it would be worth a try to see if someone has experience doing this.

Hi

I am not a chemistry or DARS expert, not that even I know the fundamentals, but CCM+ is for continuum mechanics simulation (CCM: Computational Continuum Mechanics) and electrons falls in quantum mechanics.

you must consult the cd-adapco local support, they might be able to help you with some user code if that's possible.

Good Luck

Thanks, that is a good idea to contact their support. I will do that.
