FW-H Surfaces

Hallo @ all,

I am writing my thesis in the field of aeroacoustics using Star-CCM+ and have some understanding problems regarding the FW-H Modell:

Why should someone use the „impermeable FW-H Surface“?

There exists a tutorial in Star-CCM where the surface of a cylinder is defined as impermeable Surface. Isnt in this case the detachment with noise generation neglected? Wouldn't it be better to place a „permeable FW-H Surface“ around the cylinder and the trail.
