Simulating snow flakes
Hi, as known recently that Starccm+ can simulate icing problems with eulerian/langrangian ( DMP model + fluid film) approach. I am interesting in knowing that if it would be possible to simulate snow flakes of various sizes and how they interact with aerodynamic shape e.g. car, truck or train etc. What i could think of is using particle injectors with particular diameter and specific boundary conditions.
Can this be simulated as Steady State! If yes then would it be a coupled simulation! Any fruitful reply will be highly appreciated. |
You cannot use particle injectors with DMP; the purpose of DMP is to model the phase with an eulerian approach. You just inject the 'particles' as a volume fraction at the inlet boundary.
This can be run steady, but DMP is not two-way coupled with the flow solution. |
