Default Interpolating Data onto a Uniform Mesh

Hello All,

I am wondering what the best way to export Star-CCM+ data on a uniform grid is. The mesh I generate is not uniform, but I would like to use Star-CCM+ to interpolate the data onto a uniform sized grid of my choosing. Would I use a data mapper? If so, which type is best for a 2D simulation? I understand that data mappers can be used to interpolate data you load into Star onto your mesh, but I want to do it the other way around: I want to interpolate the data generated by the Star model to a mesh I define.

Also, does anyone have any good recommendations for books about Star-CCM+ to learn more about how it works?

Thank you.

there may be another way to do it, but you could use a presentation grid to get evenly spaced planar results.

if the points aren't co-planar then you may have to setup a macro to create the points one at a time.

as far as learning star-ccm you should work the tutorials that come in the installation. look at the help documentation under tutorials...

The data mappers can be used to export CCM+ results out to either surface or volume mesh.

Thank you MBdonCFD, I was not familiar with the presentation grids or other probes. One of those should do the trick for me.
