How to simulate the evaporative cooling in the room

Hello!

I'm trying to use the Star CCM+ to simulate the evaporative cooling effect of water basion (or wet surface) in the room. The expected results should be the temperature, velocity and air humidity in the room.

As there are many methods can be used, as I know, like fluid film, Eulerian-Lagrangian - both require unsteady simulation and look hard for me as new beginner. I wonder whether it's OK to simulate this with just multi-component gas by steady simulation: Specify the gas mixture with air and water vapor and define my water surface as mass inlet which lets water vapor in. Of course, the evaporation rate needs to be calculated and also the enthalpy. But it's possible to define it as evaporation function?

I want to ask whehter someone has experience on such applications and how would you do such simulation?

Thanks a lot!

Best Regards
Shuimo

Hi Shuimo,

Have you found the solution already? I have the same problem now.
