Default Surface average on a disc

Good night, guys

I am new to cfd and star ccm+, the exercise I was proposed to realize is to find the mean velocity in an area that would be occupied by the propeller under the hull, so I was asked to "capture" the mean velocity in a disk that would be positioned under the hull.
I read some materials and tutorials and I find the "Report > Surface Average" function. If I just creat a derived part (cylinder section), sets the offset to 1 millimeter iex and run the model, would I achieve the proposal of the exercise? the derived part is not a physical element when the simulation is ongoing is it?

Ty for your attention, misters!

correct the derived part is not a wall in the domain, it is just a plane to monitor values or used for scenes,

it seems you understood the exercise

Sorry for the late reply, I had to take a break for test weeks, I was able to creat the disc but when I run the sim the velocity on the disc is zero, the rest of the sim is working as intended. Those are my settings.

I also got some doubts about the cylinder, If I create a part instead of a derived part but not input it into the boolean subtract will it be a valid part to use when I set my surface average report? because I would be able to rotate it to the desired angle, something I'm not able to do with a derived part and I'm not sure if this will work but I attached the cylinder derived part to the Ship-Csys so when the ship heaves or pitches my disc would still be at the propeller position.

Please give me some advice.
