Minimum Cell Size

Is there any way to get the minimum Cell Size of my mesh?

Thanks!

acalado July 14, 2016 10:13

You can use the field function of volume to find out which is the smallest one I guess

yes, go to Continua--->Mesh1 (or the name you assigned to your mesh)--->Reference Values--->Surface Size

Thanks Andrrrew, but is this correct for my volume mesh cells?

Awesomo July 18, 2016 04:53

@acalado, i did a fieldfunction where i took the minimum volume and did volume^1/3 is this correct?

Schwob77 July 20, 2016 16:08

The assumption of volume^1/3 is only valid for cube shaped hexahedrals. Even if you are using the trimmer the smallest cell will seldomly be cube but instead one of the trimmed ones. So your expression is only rule of thumb.

What do you need that value for?
