Hi all,
I am doing a CHT analysis in Starccm+. I am having problem with Tdr residual plot, its not converging. But when turn off the normalization option, residuals are quite good. My question is, whats the significance of "normalizatuon option"? Which option should I choose?(auto, manual, off)

It non-dimensionalizes and normalizes your residuals so they can all be viewed on a single plot. Just leave it on the default setting 'Auto' and it will automatically normalize against the highest value of each residual in the first 5 iterations.

If you aren't seeing your normalized residuals drop, especially the turbulence residuals, then it can be indicative of some kind of error in your setup. In my experience, max Tdr is usually not a small number therefore it's un-normalized residuals shouldn't be small either. I would suggest creating a scalar scene of Tdr and looking to see if it makes sense given your model and physics. You can also turn on temporary storage and create a threshold of your residuals to see which cells are having issues. I would suspect that there are funny cells that are immersed in your boundary layer somewhere.
