Hi all,

Running some final simulations and like maybe some Im sure I'll think of a scene I want after the sim is run. So looking into using the solution history and/or the auto export solution history options. Im using a file autosave every 250 iterations as I've had some file corruption problems. However, I'm unsure how this may affect the solution history file? Will it only contain the solution data for that given amount of iterations in the sim file or will it continue to hole all iterations once the autosave occurs?

What kind of thing do you all do to access solution data you haven't pre-set to save, ie scenes etc.

Hi EDE16,

I use an autosave at every 500 iterations and a simulation history file that saves specific parameters at every 125 iterations (I am simulating vertical axis wind turbines). The history file seems to take a snapshot of the solution at the specified frequently interval (e.g. this is the pressure scalar field at iteration 250), and then you can go back in time to look at the scalars/vectors you specified at any of those intervals. From my experiences, the autosave feature hasn't effected my history files.

To access the history file (if that's what you meant by solution data), what I usually do is just created a "recorded solution view" by right-clicking the history file in the simulation tree, and then you can drag that solution view into a given scene to display the values.

Hope this helps!
