Structured Meshing with a Radial Pattern in Star-CCM+
1 Attachment(s)
Hi,
I am trying to mesh a cylinder look domain by the structure mesher with a radial pattern like the picture attached. Any help is highly appreciated. I tried the directed mesh option but the mesher does not recognize the circles as the edges for the source surface. Best, A E |
Star-CCM doesn't really do structured mesh. Directed meshing is as close as you can get. If it isn't getting close enough for your liking, you will need to resort to a 3rd party meshing software and import the mesh.

You can make that type of mesh if it is what I think it is - is the center hollow? i.e. no mesh there?
If you need a center, the directed mesher can do that, but you have to make a square block in the center of the circle, so your final mesh will not look like the one you posted. If you want a structured mesh you can't source it from any other mesher than the patch mesh. |
Thank you very much for your reply. Yeah, I finally used a revolved rectangle to generate the directed mesh.
