Rotating blade analysis

Hi guys,

if I would like to simulate a drone (rotating blades), which would be the easiest way to do such a thing? (More of a recreational project)

I was thinking of imposing a rotating velocity to the solid bodies, and use constant pressure faces around the vehicle...

Any suggestions? I don't really have any experience with moving/rotating solid boundaries. Any tutorials for such a thing?

Thanks in advance!

Best regards!

Unless you are specifically interested in the flow near and through the propeller I would suggest starting with the virtual disk model. That will eliminate the need for rotating regions.

That being said, there 2 tutorials that may be helpful. MRF: Rotating Fan and RBM: Rotating Fan. Check out the help documentation under Tutorial Guide > Motion.
