Hi Guys,
So I am working on FSI and I am using thin mesher and prism layer too (polyhedral and surface remesh also) in Star ccm+ (version 11.04). I have enabled the automatic thin/bulk shape detection and when the volume mesh start, it detects the coolant as thin too (ideally it should not). When the Volume mesh is finished I see that thin mesher is working perfectly but the prism layers disappear at the interface and then there are no prism layers in the whole fluid domain.

I have already used Part control and applied it to fluid part but when i start volume mesh with that settings the volume mesh shows error- " ERROR: subsurface location (1.85404 0.55268 -0.163788)has no extrusion data. " Extruder::getLayerDistributionForSubsurfacer: Vertex has no extrusion data". and this is during Prism layer subsurface execution.

Please tell me what could have gone wrong.

This is a known limitation of the thin mesher, it's in the user guide.

Essentially you cannot have two domains with the poly+prism+thin meshers enabled and have them be conformal.

Choose a domain to lose the thin mesh and use a part control to disable it. Your prisms will return.
Akanksha90 and shakabrade like this.
