Mixing particles in a single liquid

Hi guys, i am new to STAR CCM+ and i need some help/advice please.
I want to mix particles (sand) in water in a T-mixer channel with a steady state laminar flow. I do not know how to set up the Lagrangian model or should i use a different model? I have figured out how to just mix water by creating passive scalars.
