Won't open in Linux, netbeans error

Hello Everyone,

Recently installed star on a supermicro server but when I try to run it in Linux, the loading picture comes up, then I get this error:

"Could not initialize class org.netbeans.core.windows.view.ui.toolbars.DnDSupp ort"

Star still seems to be running in the background after I exit the error message but no window appears.

Any thoughts on how to approach this? This was attempted with 11.04.012 and 11.06.011 both in Debian. I tried 11.04.012 in the latest ubuntu version but same error.

When this always happened to me it was an installation problem. If you've done this with multiple versions it's probably a Java package issue. I would suggest you try purging all your Java packages and only install the Sun/Oracle one and see how that goes.

You mean the java packages that came with the OS? (not with star in the JDK folder where star was installed)

Hopefully if you use the one that STAR installed you shouldn't need other packages, but perhaps it's a good idea to clear everything out and try again.

So I found a solution (for now). I setup centos on the ssd through my laptop, and installed star there. I put the ssd on my server and now it works fine.....

When I have more time I defintiely want to investigate more with purging java and such.

I'm facing the same error. Have you figure out what is the reason? Because I am not able to put SSD or anything on the server, so your solution is not suitable for me……

Best wishes.

Could anyone give some suggestions on solving the error?

Thanks
