Circumeferential averaged velocity
Hello,
I am doing a simulation for calculating a nominal wake distribution behind a ship model within STAR-CCM+. I would like to obtain Circumferential Average of velocity for specified radius, i.e. line integral of x velocity component for radii: 0.2R, 0.3R, etc. The problem is that within line integral report, user must specify a part (or part surface) and I don't know how to select a cells that lie on some radius. Does anyone know how to calculate a nominal wake distribution? Should i create some derived parts? Thank you for your help |
Hi Afarkas,
I would do it like this: - Create a cylindrical coordinate system where the z-axis corresponds to the axis around which you want to rotate - Create a plane that is normal to the z-axis - Create a cylindrical section (attach it only to the plane section you created before!) - If you take care that you choose the right coordinate system u should see a line after entering a radius - Now make a surface average on the line |
Thank you for your reply.
It worked. Best regards |
